Capabilities

Cloud compute without the complexity.

Manage your existing Docker workloads on cloud infrastructure without provisioning VMs or changing your development workflow.

Cloud-powered runtime

Each Cloud Sandbox is a cloud VM that has its own Docker Engine.

Native Docker CLI

Use the Docker commands that you know to manage your workloads remotely.

Managed infrastructure

Docker sets up and manages the cloud environment for you.

Benefits

Same Docker, same workflow

Move your local Docker workloads into a Cloud Sandbox, without changing how you work

Compute beyond your laptop

Put apps with many services and heavy builds on cloud compute instead of on your machine, and keep working while they run

Stop anytime, pay for what you use

Stop the sandbox when you’re done and pick it up later. You’re billed for the time the sandbox is active

FAQ

Common questions.

What is Docker Offload?

Docker Offload lets you run your existing Docker apps in the cloud using the Docker tools and commands you already know. Your workloads run in a Cloud Sandbox instead of on your local machine, giving you access to cloud compute without managing the underlying infrastructure.

How do I get started with Docker Offload?

Get access to Docker Offload through the DAP purchase flow. Once you have access, use docker --cloud to run your workloads in the cloud.

What can I run with Docker Offload?

Run your existing Docker apps and builds, including multi-container applications, Compose stacks, databases, and resource-intensive builds, in a Cloud Sandbox.

Do I need Kubernetes or other cloud infrastructure?

No Docker Offload runs your apps and builds on Docker-managed cloud infrastructure. You don’t need to provision cloud VMs, configure Kubernetes, or manage the underlying infrastructure.

How long can my workload run in Docker Offload?

Docker Offload sessions run for eight hours by default and can be configured to run for up to 24 hours. You can stop your Cloud Sandbox when you’re finished, and billing stops when the sandbox is no longer running.

What are Docker Sandboxes and Cloud Sandboxes?

Docker Sandboxes provide isolated microVM environments where AI coding agents can safely execute code and perform development tasks.

A Cloud Sandbox is a cloud-hosted environment where Docker Offload runs your existing Docker workloads.

Do I need a DAP subscription to use Docker Offload?

Yes. Docker Desktop is required to use Docker Offload. Make sure you’re running the latest version of Docker Desktop.

Do I need Docker Desktop to use Docker Offload?
